Have you read books and articles about motivation and you saw titles such as “10 simple ways of achieving an objective”, or “5 tools for motivating your employees”. Are those books just selling dreams?
Do they usually offer simplistic and trivial solutions? We believe there is no universal recipe for motivating yourself or the others, what works for some people, the others may find it demotivating. 
Nevertheless, for us, self-motivation means:
Acknowledge your resistance and difficult feelings with motivation. ...
