XLAB Vacation plan Programming & AI Edition
The XLAB Programming & AI workshop is a 4-day (July 21-24) immersive learning experience for youth ages 12–18, organized by the Curaçao Innovation & Technology Institute (CITI) in collaboration with Gamma IT Solutions. The activity introduces participants to the world of software development and artificial intelligence in a fun and beginner-friendly way.
Throughout the workshop, students are introduced to:
• The fundamentals of software engineering and programming
• Core coding concepts such as object-oriented programming, classes, variables, data types, and event handlers
• The structure and use of C# programming language
• Working within Visual Studio
• Hands-on development of a functional web browser
• A creative final challenge where they designed a simple game
This workshop gives participants a foundational understanding of how programming languages work, how to build applications and how logic, creativity and technology come together in real-world software development.
Each participant left with:
• A working prototype they built themselves
• certificate of completion
• New digital skills and confidence to explore technology further
The program is designed not only to teach practical technical skills, but also to inspire curiosity and introduce potential career pathways in the digital sector.
