A story is a kind of anthropological or ethnographic research into how another person or organisation lives, why they've chosen their activity and what they want to change. And the way to share this story is called storytelling.

Storytelling is an effective method of communicating information to an audience by means of telling a funny, touching, or instructive story with real or fictional characters; moreover, it means timely, relevant, useful, emotional, and entertaining content.

In this video you will:

  • learn what storytelling is and how to deliver a story,
  • go through the different types of stories and see examples of successful use of storytelling in different organizations,
  • find out how CSOs can apply storytelling in their activities.

Expert:
Radmila Segol, university professor, online learning expert. Radmila has a Ph. D. in social communication studies and works as associated professor at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. She is an online education and blended learning expert with significant experience in story creation for the business and social sectors. Radmila worked as a journalist and PR consultant for top-rated Ukrainian newspapers and magazines.
