How can we manage our time efficiently when we have many things to do in the same amount of time? How can we set our priorities correctly to complete all the tasks we have undertaken within the deadlines? What tool can we use to map out our tasks based on their importance and the need for immediate completion? In this activity, powered by aiesec, using the Eisenhower matrix you will be able to strengthen and improve your Time Management skills!
Eisenhower Matrix is a productivity, time management and task prioritization tool that has been created in order to enhance prioritization.Based on this model, tasks are categorized according to the importance and deadline of each task. The present model was created by President Dwight Eisenhower as a method of personal organization to manage high importance issues.
The matrix tool consists of a vertical axis which is divided into two categories: Important and Not Important and a horizontal axis divided into the categories of Urgent and Not Urgent. In this way four squares are created which represent the unique combinations of the categories of the two axes.
The squares created specifically represent:
Urgent and Important
Non Urgent and Important
Urgent and Non Important
Non Urgent and Non Important
The tasks are then assigned to the corresponding category and the corresponding actions are taken, which are respectively:
Immediate execution of these tasks
Planning of these tasks
Delegation of these tasks to third parties
Registration of these tasks
More details on the use of the Eisenhower Matrix can be found in the video above.
