Cooperation Partnership essentials

In the European Education Programme Erasmus+: Youth in Action, Key Action 2 supports long-term transnational cooperation projects like Small scale partnerships and Cooperation Partnerships. These projects aim
  • to support the quality development of youth work,
  • to strengthen the professional capacity development of organizations and their youth workers
  • to bring European dimension into local realities

You can apply for two different types of projects for Cooperation:
Small scale: Projects for newcomers to the E+ programme or European youth field, grassroots and less experienced organisations.
Cooperation projects: Long-term partnerships aiming to develop and innovate their practices by developing innovative ideas and intellectual outputs for systemic change in youth work. Innovation also means implementing and transferring newly produced products or methodologies.
Projects can be sectoral or cross-sectoral, meaning they take place in the youth field, in the field of education or training, or between different fields, including the economic sector. This course is about Cooperation Partnerships with main focus on the youth field.

If you have an innovative idea for a project to improve the quality of your youth work and you are considering developing a Cooperation Partnership project, take the following steps:

  • STEP 1: Test the relevance: does the idea fit your organisation’s and Erasmus+ needs and policies?
  • STEP 2: Search for competent partners who would be interested in developing the idea together with you.
  • STEP 3: Design all project elements together: management, budget, programme, task division, planning, and dissemination of expected outcomes. Make sure aims and objectives, responsibilities, activity plan, impact, dissemination and budget are coherent. Detailed information on the criteria, procedures, and deadlines can be found in the Erasmus+ Programme Guide.
  • STEP 4: Check deadlines and check your project on quality criteria for assessment. Submit the application form. More information about how to apply, you will find on the website if your National Agency of Erasmus+ .
