There are several digital competence models and tools for self-assessment designed for general purposes (e.g. the Digital Competence Wheel) or adapted better to youth work context (e.g. Skill-IT, Verke's tools).

Yet, we invite you to use one or more tools to self-assess your digital competence and reflect on your abilities in the international youth work training setting.


Skill-IT - competence self-assessment tool for youth workers

The Skill IT for Youth Competence Framework covers 9 Competences specifically relevant to youth workers who engage in Digital Youth Work and who are interested in supporting young people develop 21st century skills. Access online self-assessment tool.




DYW SNAC digital competences in youth work

The assessment tool for digital competences in youth work is an outcome of the Digital Youth Work Strategic Cooperation be- tween National Agencies (DYW SNAC). It has been developed and tested together with the European community of youth work practitioners. Download the self-assessment tool.



Verke’s professional digital competence toolbox for youth work

The professional digital competence toolbox for youth work, created by Verke, is intended as support material for youth work organisations to structure, assess and develop their staff members’ professional digital skills. Access toolbox online.




Digital Competence Wheel

The Digital Competence Wheel is developed by Center for Digital Dannelse, who has been specializing in digital formation and digital competences for more than 10 years. Access the digital competence wheel.

  • Step 1. Explore offered self-assessment tools and choose one (or more) to self-assess digital competence.
  • Step 2. Reflect on your self-assessment process and results. Share your insights in the badge evidence reflection. Upload results to get a badge for completing this activity.
