This activity helps you get involved in a gender equality initiative or campaign, contributing to ongoing efforts to make your community more inclusive.
You’ll find a way to support an existing project and help raise awareness or take action for gender equality in your community.
First, get inspired!
Watch a video about young people or youth organizations who have successfully run gender equality campaigns.
Listen to a podcast featuring local leaders who are working to promote gender equality and how young people can get involved.
Now, take action:
Through these activities, you’ll connect with initiatives that promote gender equality and learn how to contribute to meaningful change. Whether you support an existing project or start your own, you’ll gain valuable skills in advocacy, teamwork, and leadership, making a real difference in your community.
Find a gender-focused project to support: Look for a gender equality initiative in your school, youth group, community or online. This could be a campaign, an event, or a project that you can contribute to. Share information about this project on social media, encouraging others to join or learn more about it.
Volunteer or contribute to the project: Get involved in the initiative by volunteering your time, helping out at an event, or promoting the campaign in your community. Share photos, reflections, or a post about your contribution to the project and how it helped promote gender equality.
Start your own initiative: If you can’t find a team and a project, create your own! You could plan a social media campaign, organise a gender equality event, or work with others to create an initiative in your youth group. Document your initiative and share a summary of how it contributed to raising awareness or supporting gender equality in your community.
