This activity is for participants taking part in the Cities of Learning study visit for Networking and Advocating.

This session is designed for participants to engage directly with the EntreComp Community, a global network focused on entrepreneurial education and competence development. The purpose is to understand their approach to fostering entrepreneurial learning, connecting professionals, and recognising contributions. This activity aims to mutually learn from their practices and explore how these can inform and strengthen the Cities of Learning Network, directly enhancing "Networking and Advocating", "Communicating Meaningfully", and "Designing Programmes" competence areas within the European Training Strategy (ETS) Competence Model for Youth Workers.

Why this Activity? (Fostering Entrepreneurial Learning & Global Connections)
Visiting the EntreComp Community offers invaluable insights into a dynamic platform dedicated to entrepreneurial education for life and work. This is a unique opportunity to understand how a global network connects professionals, shares innovations, and provides tools and recognition for developing entrepreneurial competences. By engaging with their vision and methods, participants can identify strategies for empowering learners with future-ready skills, explore innovative approaches to learning design, and strengthen their collective advocacy for comprehensive skill recognition. It's a chance to build bridges between the Cities of Learning network and the broader entrepreneurial education ecosystem, fostering concrete collaborations and inspiring new learning pathways.

About the EntreComp Community
The EntreComp Community is positioned as a one-stop-shop for entrepreneurial education, serving as a global network where individuals and organizations collaborate to transform learning and empower everyone with the skills needed to shape our future. It's a space to discover the latest innovations and policies, gain inspiration, and share with a community of professionals involved in entrepreneurial learning for education, life, and work.

  • Be part of a global network: Join networks based on region or areas of interest to discover practices and collaborate globally.
  • Register for a course or event: Take entrepreneurial learning to the next level through dedicated courses and events.
  • Share your work: Gain visibility by sharing publications, projects, or tools, or by creating knowledge directly on the platform.
  • Invest: Become a supporting partner by hosting networks, creating knowledge, and developing courses on the platform.

How to Join
Registration is free, providing access to resources, tools, courses, events, and networks.

Get Recognised (EntreComp Awards)
The EntreComp Awards recognise individuals and organisations contributing to building an inclusive and diverse community involved in entrepreneurial learning. These awards celebrate contributors at all stages of their journey and connect recipients to a growing network of practitioners, organisations, and policymakers. Awards are granted at four levels:
  • Supporter: Shows interest in using EntreComp to underpin entrepreneurial learning (instantly accredited).
  • Explorer: Explores and tests the use of EntreComp in their work.
  • Practitioner: Actively uses EntreComp to underpin entrepreneurial learning across different work areas.
  • Champion: Uses EntreComp as a tool to transform entrepreneurial learning policy or practice within and beyond their organisation.
All award recipients receive a badge on the EntreComp Community Platform and are featured in a global Yearbook. Champion level recipients may be invited to a formal awards ceremony. Benefits include acknowledgement from the European Commission, a boost to professional profiles (with a special badge for CV, LinkedIn), work shared with an exclusive worldwide network, and access to numerous opportunities.

Connecting with Cities of Learning
The connection between the EntreComp Community and the Cities of Learning Network is highly synergistic, focusing on the future-readiness of learners:
  • Shared Focus on Skill Development & Recognition: Both initiatives are dedicated to identifying, developing, and recognising essential skills beyond formal education. The EntreComp Community's awards and badges for entrepreneurial competence directly parallel Cities of Learning's use of Open Badges to make all learning visible and verifiable.
  • Network-Based Approach to Learning: Both platforms operate as vibrant communities and networks, fostering peer learning, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among professionals to achieve shared educational goals.
  • Empowering Learners for Life and Work: EntreComp's focus on entrepreneurial competences (ideas, resources, taking action) directly contributes to Cities of Learning's broader aim of equipping young people and adult learners with the skills needed for personal fulfillment, employability, and active citizenship.
  • Advocacy for Innovative Learning: Both organisations advocate for innovative approaches to learning and for the systemic recognition of diverse learning pathways, contributing to a more inclusive and responsive educational landscape.
  • Good Practice Exchange: The EntreComp Community's digital library, courses, events, and network provide valuable resources and models for how Cities of Learning initiatives can enhance their offerings, particularly in areas related to entrepreneurial skills and structured recognition pathways.
Through this visit, participants can gain practical insights into fostering entrepreneurial competences, explore innovative models for community-driven learning, and identify concrete ways to integrate EntreComp principles and recognition into their local Cities of Learning platforms.
