The objective of this visit is to exchange 21st century skills frameworks and assessment systems used in participating countries with a special focus on practices in Portugal and Lisbon. We will be visiting NAU, which is a national agency that caters programs regarding the development of skills for organizations and citizens. With a special focus on 21st century skills. In addition, we aim to achieve the following objectives:
  • To identify specific needs and opportunities to use competence frameworks to assess 21st century skills in adult education programs implemented by partners.
  • To share tools, methods, and activities that support adult learners in assessing their skills, especially supporting participants with disadvantaged backgrounds and fewer opportunities.

FCCN is the Scientific Computing Unit of the FCT - Foundation for Science and Technology. They work with 8 pillars: Connectivity, Computing, Collaboration, Knowledge, Security and Innovation. Organising Massive Open Online Courses. The NAU Platforms is based on high-quality online open courses, aimed at large audiences.

At the end of this activity, you will have gained an understanding of the 21st century skills frameworks and assessment systems used at NAU. You will also have learned about the challenges and best practices in implementing learning programs. Through the exchange of ideas and experiences, participants will be able to adapt and improve your own 21st century skills programs.

This badge is earned for participating in the visit to NAU, at the National Foundation for Science and Technology. The badge can be enriched by adding a reflection on the learning during this visit.
This visit is part of the study visit 21st century skills competence frameworks and assessment.

The holder of the badge will have worked either on their own or in a small group to reflect on the questions:
  • how the visit has gone;
  • what has been learned;
  • how to use this in your work;
  • how else to use it (think about e.g. benefit for society).

The questions are designed to optimise generative learning: they are not just about what the participant has learnt but also how they can use the learning in their work and personal life.
This badge has been issued by a facilitator of the study visit.
