Training Course dates: 25 April-1 May 2022
Venue: Training centre "Daugirdiskes", Lithuania

This course supported participants in designing and preparing engaging 21st-century skills development programmes for and with young people. It was a chance to meet and network with inspiring colleagues and organisations. This was the second training of the three-training series “Future Skills Now!”


Reasons for organising this activity


  • ​​to develop competences in designing digital learning pathways with young people to develop 21st-century skills
  • to explore a range of resources that can be included when designing digital learning pathways
  • to prepare to run better quality youth work programmes in your organisations and communities
  • to explore how to validate and recognise the development of 21st-century skills using digital Open Badges and Cities of Learning platform


Course objectives


  • to exchange and learn good practices of developing digital learning pathways for 21st-century skills in diverse learning settings
  • to design digital learning pathways and pilot them in follow-up to enable young people to develop 21st-century skills through connected learning
  • to share the outcomes of the local research on youth needs and aspirations for future life and careers and reflect their relevance to youth work programmes
  • to experience specific skills in action and reflect their relevance to the present and future life of young people


Participants profile


  • youth leaders, youth workers, trainers, mentors, non-formal educators above 18 years old
  • motivated to improve their future skills and of those, they are working with
  • participants from Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Slovenia, Sweden, Romania and the UK.

The international activities were carried out in English and required a sufficient level of communication in English.

Preparation


Participants were invited to complete these preparation tasks:
  • have an individual interview or focus groups with up to 3-4 young people about their future skills
  • participate in the virtual exchange (2 hours max) before the training course

The owner of this badge took part in the international training course "Future Skills Now! - Future Play" in April 2022, in Lithuania. During this training, the learner has been:
  • reflecting on signals and trends of the future and envisioning young people's skills set for unfolding futures;

  • designing digital learning pathways to develop 21st-century skills
  • practising specific skills in action and reflecting their relevance to the present and future life of young people.
